This was taken maybe 10 minutes from Dave & Karyn's house as we took a nice leisurely drive on Sunday morning. I felt like the scientists in Jurassic Park who were desperately peering through the windows of their automated dino-tour searching for dinosaurs. Searching through the trees and open grassy areas did not yield any kanga (or dino) sightings. How great would it be to see them though outside of a zoo? I've been told that they are somewhat similar to deer in the U.S. - they are just ... around - in both rural and some suburban areas. How much would my 3-year-old love it if she saw a wild kangaroo?!!
And welcome to all of you from the Running Blog Family who have temporarily migrated over from our Two Fools Running site. For you... the stats from today:

I'll take it - I haven't run in a week.

I saw a deer while I was out running today. Not as exciting as a kangaroo. Although, I'm sure a deer would be exciting to an Australian. Maybe. Ok, maybe not. We don't have cool animals in the states. We have skunks and 'possums. Nobody likes those.
I am so excited to see kangaroos and koalas!!!
We don't have cool animals in teh States, but we do have buffalo though! (Few but still they are the weirdest animals I have ever seen.)
Ed, you know the link to your "Two Fools Running" blog doesn't work...is it still up?
The recurring theme is funny, taking what you have for granted, yet something different is perceived as cool. In the states, most people take (pick your animal, deer, squirrels...)for granted but a foreigner not accustomed to them, (often)perceive them/it as "cool" (can substitute descriptors as aprop).
kind of like life for many(?)
